Frequently Asked Questions

The following are answers to commonly asked questions:

1. What is the consultation fee?
Our consultation fee is $150.00

2. How do I schedule an appointment?
Please contact our receptionist, Christy, by calling (812) 275-3306, and she will gladly schedule an appointment for you.

3. Will I get to speak to Meredith McIntyre?
Your appointment will be with Ms. McIntyre. In the unlikely event that she is delayed by a court appearance, or a mediation, staff members may assist with some aspects of the consultation.

4. What can I expect at a consultation?
You can expect to receive an explanation of our privacy policy, a detailed description of each step of your case, and an overview of information that you will need to gather to assist in your representation.

5. What is the retainer?
Our retainers start at $2,500.00, and may be more depending on the complexity of your case. We accept cash, checks and credit cards.

6. Is the information I give to the office confidential?
Anything you tell Ms. McIntyre or the staff is private, and will not be disclosed to anyone without your written permission. Clearly, some information will be contained in pleadings that are filed with the Court, only after you have read the pleadings, and have signed then, signifying their authenticity, and allowing them to be filed with the Court.

7. How will my questions be answered?
There is a live person to answer your calls during the business hours from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. If you send an email, it will be answered as soon as possible.  If you leave a voicemail, it will also be answered as soon as possible.

8. What are your office hours?
Our office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  The only holidays that we are closed for are: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, July 4, Labor Day, Thanksgiving (Thursday and Friday), Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, and New Year’s Eve. We will occasionally celebrate events with the staff out of the office.

9. How will I receive communication from your office?
Someone from the office will forward email correspondence to you via email.  You may receive a phone call, or you may receive correspondence by mail. You will be advised of all activity on your case.

10. What information do I need to expect to gather?
Ms. McIntyre and the staff will work closely with you to gather all information to present your case to the court or to a mediator.

Clearly, these are just a few of the many questions we routinely are asked.  This list is not expected to be inclusive of all questions you might have.

Please feel free to contact the office to schedule an appointment to discuss your case, your concerns, and your options.

Please know that we care.
